Hi. So I am apparently not great at keeping more long-form blogs... oops. But in other and better news I have been doing a lot of work with ink/ink wash and digital color over the past few days. I think it's really cool to combine traditional and digital media in exciting ways. Here are some of my favorites:

Drawing-a-day

Hi all!

So I'm trying to do this thing where I do a drawing a day this summer, just to get reacquainted with all the good stuff about drawing that I've forgotten about (OH HAI ANATOMY.) Here are some of my favorites so far:

We'll see how this pans out for the rest of the summer - I'm starting an internship in a completely unrelated field (classical music radio production!) in a week, but I should still have time for all this. You should nag me if I forget. (Thanks Sam for demonstrating this :D )

oh hi there.

Hi, and welcome! Here's a Photoshop sketch of mustachioed dude wearing a bandana with symbols taken from playing cards on his face. I know, I don't get it either, especially because I strongly dislike card games since I have zero attention span for them.

Moving on. I started this blog because I want to be more accountable and make sure I'm doing illustration and drawing work on my own. I'm a music history major at a small liberal arts college (which doesn't offer any illustration or graphic design classes), but I've always been really interested in art and illustration. Sometimes I wish I'd gone to art school, but then I remember everything that I love about being here and it's okay.

So, I think this will be a space in which I will post sketches, drawings, ideas, inspirational artists/works, and other fun things. We'll see how this goes!
